Dance PossAbilities

Dance PossAbilities is our dance class specifically designed for dancers who benefit from additional accommodations. The intention is to provide a fun dance experience to dancers of varying abilities. Each class meeting ends with fun dances and/or games, and …. a sticker!

Inclusive practices implemented:

• Predicatble routine,

• Visual prompts,

• Short wait times, and

• Positive descriptive praise

• Simple sign language.

  Note: Dancers who have developmental delays, disabilities, and other developmental or medical diagnoses are welcome to enroll in other dance classes.

Eagles

The Eagles class is our adaptive competition team. The structure of each weekly class is very similar to Dance PossAbilities and the same inclusive practices are used. Choreography begins at the start of the season as the Eagles perform at company performances and compete at dance competitions throughout the year. We intend to provide a fun dance competition experience to dancers who have disabilities and developmental delays. Dancers in the Eagles competition group are exempt from some of the competition requirements.

Details:

• Tuition is $55 per month

• No Prerequisite classes (unlike our other competition subgroups).

• No Audition Required

• Will need to purchase a Goins Dancing shirt (in addition to a dance costume)

• Some extra practices required cost $10 per practice. (Not required to attend all of them).

• Attendance at all dance competitions and company performances is not required.

• Parents are encouraged to join our “band” on the “Band App.” Ms. Sarah can send a link or provide a QR code.

Notes:

• There will be some travel expenses such as gas and possibly hotel stays for families with dancers in Eagles.

• An audition is required when Eagles would like to join the production group. This helps Ms. Erica determine which role to cast.

• Eagles are welcome to enroll in other classes at the studio.
