Dress Rehearsal Week
Dates: May 18th - May 21st
Always the week BEFORE the recital.
Dancers wear their recital costumes to class all week!
We take class pictures.
Parents may take individual pictures of their dancers.
MSC Ballet Parents:
Since you’re not present during class time, MSC Ballet will not have a formal dress rehearsal.

💖 Costume Information
- Goins Dancing keeps costs low by selecting versatile recital costumes that coordinate across all dance styles, so dancers within the same age group wear the same costume.
- Dancers who take multiple dance classes within the same age group only need one recital costume.
- Only dancers in more than one age group will need to order more than one costume.
- Female Costume: 3-in-1 design that includes:
- a tutu
- a shorter skirt
- shorts
- Male Costume: Classic black vest and pants with a white shirt. This style is the same across all age groups and routines.

We don’t require specific brands, but we do ask for specific shoe colors for each style:
- Ballet: Ballet shoes
- Female Costume: Light pink
- Male Costume: Black
- Tap: Black tap shoes
- Jazz: Skin color jazz shoes
- Lyrical: Skin color pirouette shoes
Tights
- Skin color transition tights

Make Up
- Makeup can make the recital extra fun for young dancers. It also helps their facial features to be seen by the audience.
- It's a personal preference for each family, but dancers typically wear:
- Powder
- Pink blush
- Nude eye shadow
- Red lipstick
- Black mascara
- Black eye liner
- It is OK if you prefer that your dancer does not wear make-up.
Recital TIps
It might be hard to contact staff on the day of the recital. Please ask questions in advance.
Look into how far the venue is from your home or from wherever you’ll be coming.
Buy these at least 30 days in advance to avoid sizing or shipping issues. Let dancers practice in them before the big day!
Recital details are updated there regularly. Find it at goinsdancing.com.
Label shoes, bags, lovies, etc. to avoid mix-ups. Masking tape works great!
Please aim to have your dancer backstage 15 minutes before start time.
Perfection is not the goal. Focus on fun and creating memories.
Many dancers receive flowers. Some may feel left out if they don’t.
Stay for the full recital. Silence phones. Sit toward the back with small children.
Recital day is special for dancers and families. Sit back, relax, and celebrate your dancer’s hard work!
