Dress Rehearsal Week
- Always the week BEFORE the recital during each dancer's regularly scheduled class time.
- Dancers wear their recital costumes to their own regularly scheduled classes throughout the week!
- We take class pictures.
- Parents may take individual pictures of their dancers.
General Recital Details
Our annual recital is a special opportunity for dancers to celebrate their hard work on stage. Please review the details below as your family prepares for recital day.
What Families Need to Know
Participation
There is no recital participation fee. Dancers are automatically included unless a family completes the opt-out form.
Recital Opt-Out Form
Costumes
The costume fee is $85 and is due November 1, 2026. Most dancers only need 1 costume!
Tickets
Recital tickets are sold separately. Ticket sale details will be shared closer to recital season.
Arrival
Dancers should arrive backstage 15 minutes before their recital start time.
Sign Out
All dancers must be signed out by a parent or guardian after their recital.
Please label your dancer’s costume pieces, shoes, and accessories. Additional recital details will be added as we get closer to the event.
Recital Costumes
To help keep recital costs low for families, we select 3-in-1 recital costumes.
These costumes are versatile across dance styles, so dancers can wear the same costume for multiple recital dances. Dancers enrolled in multiple classes within the same age group usually only need to buy 1 costume!
Each costume includes:
- Shorts
- A tutu
- A shorter skirt

Shoes and Tights
Shoes
We don’t require specific brands, but we do ask for specific shoe colors for each style:

Ballet:
- Girls: Light pink
- Boys: Black
- Tap: Black tap shoes
- Jazz: Skin color jazz shoes
- Lyrical: Skin color pirouette shoes
No shoes needed for: Tiny Dancer, Dance PossAbilities, Eagles, Hip-hop, and Tumble classes.
Tights
- Skin color transition tights
Transition tights can be worn when dancing in shoes or barefoot.

Make Up
- Makeup can make the recital extra fun for young dancers. It also helps their facial features be seen by the audience.
- It’s a personal preference for each family, but dancers typically wear:
- Powder
- Pink blush
- Nude eye shadow
- Red lipstick
- Black mascara
- Black eye liner
It is OK if you prefer that your dancer does not wear make-up.
Recital Tips
It might be hard to contact staff on the day of the recital. Please ask questions in advance.
Look into how far the venue is from your home or from wherever you’ll be coming.
Buy these at least 30 days in advance to avoid sizing or shipping issues. Let dancers practice in them before the big day!

Label shoes, bags, lovies, costumes, and anything else your dancer brings backstage to avoid mix-ups.
Masking tape works great!
Please aim to have your dancer backstage 15 minutes before start time.
Perfection is not the goal. Focus on fun and creating memories.
Many dancers receive flowers. Some may feel left out if they don’t.
Stay for the full recital. Silence phones. Sit toward the back with small children.
